Fundamental to Caroline's approach are the following principles:
Understanding the brief
understanding the client’s requirements and desired result whilst also testing that brief in order to ensure that the most appropriate strategy is developed.
Developing a strategy
that is unique to the client and the project in hand. Drawing on previous experience but understanding that each proposal is different and may require a fresh approach.
Thinking creatively
when presented with problems to understand how they could be addressed in a number of different ways, not just the obvious.
Effective negotiating
– understanding the importance of who to speak to and when. Negotiating hard when necessary but also seeing the bigger picture.
Engagement
– with the local community, statutory bodies and the Local Authority. Early engagement will benefit a project by pre-empting issues.
Commitment
– persistence and determination pay dividends in the planning system.
Proactive
– anticipating issues before they happen and finding solutions
High standards
– meeting deadlines and budgets and providing a high quality of work
